Privacy Policy

JamPia (the “Company”) complies with applicable privacy laws and regulations, including the Personal Information Protection Act and the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, and establishes this Privacy Policy to protect users’ rights and interests.

This Privacy Policy applies to the game services and all related services provided by the Company (collectively, the “Services”). Through this Privacy Policy, the Company informs you how your personal information is collected and used, and what measures are taken to protect your personal information.

You may refuse consent regarding the collection, use, provision, or outsourcing of your personal information. However, if you refuse consent, you may be unable to use all or part of the Services. This Privacy Policy may be amended due to changes in applicable laws and guidelines or changes to the Company’s internal policies.

1 Purposes of Collection and Use of Personal Information

“Personal information” means information about a living individual that can identify the user of the Services (including information that cannot identify a specific individual by itself but can be easily combined with other information to do so). The Company uses collected personal information for the following purposes:

  1. Service Provision and Billing/Settlement
    • Inviting friends, referring friends, gifting items, viewing game rankings, playing with other users, purchasing and paying for items, and providing notification services
  2. User Management
    • Identity verification in connection with service use; user verification, identification, and authentication for service provision; prevention of fraudulent use by unauthorized or abusive users; confirmation of intent to register and withdraw; record retention for identity verification and dispute resolution; handling complaints and customer inquiries; and delivering notices
  3. New Service Development, Advertising, and Marketing
    • Developing new services and providing customized services; providing services and placing advertisements based on statistical characteristics; verifying service effectiveness; providing event information and promotional/advertising information and opportunities to participate; analyzing access frequency; and compiling statistics on service usage

2 Items Collected and Methods of Collection

1) Items of Personal Information Collected

(1) To provide optimized services, the Company may receive and collect the following information from the platform operator you use when you access the Services:

  • Nickname (name) used on the platform, membership/user ID number, friend list, and profile picture

(2) In the course of using the Services or processing business operations, the following information may be collected:

  • Service usage records, access logs, records of abusive use, carrier information, OS and device information, locale information, and payment records

2) Methods of Collection

The Company collects personal information through the following methods:

  • Website, application, written forms, fax, phone, customer support board, email, and event participation
  • Provision from partners/affiliates
  • Collection through network communication data or access history

3 Provision and Sharing of Personal Information

The Company does not, in principle, provide users’ personal information to third parties. However, exceptions apply in the following cases:

  1. (1) When the user has provided prior consent
  2. (2) When required by special provisions of law, or when there is a court judgment or order, a binding order by an administrative agency, or a request by investigative authorities in accordance with procedures and methods stipulated by law for investigative purposes

4 Retention and Use Period

In principle, the Company destroys personal information without delay once the purposes of collection and use have been achieved. However, the following information is retained for the periods specified below for the reasons stated, and is used only for those retention purposes:

5 Destruction Procedures and Methods

In principle, the Company destroys personal information without delay once the purposes of collection and use have been achieved. The procedures and methods of destruction are as follows. However, under the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, personal information of users who have not used the Services for one (1) year will be stored separately.

  1. 1) Destruction Procedure

    The Company destroys personal information whose retention period has expired using methods that make recovery impossible.

  2. 2) Destruction Method
    • Personal information stored in electronic file form is deleted using technical methods that prevent the records from being restored.
    • Personal information printed on paper is destroyed by shredding.

6 Outsourcing of Personal Information Processing

The Company may outsource the processing of personal information as follows to perform the Services. In accordance with applicable laws, the Company establishes and operates necessary measures to ensure that outsourced personal information is managed safely.

  1. 1) Contractors

    Marketing partners and business cooperation affiliates designated by the Company

  2. 2) Scope of Outsourced Work

    User management, customer support, event operation and marketing activities, and delivery/processing of event prizes

  3. 3) Retention and Use Period

    Until service use is suspended or the outsourcing agreement is terminated

7 User and Legal Representative Rights and How to Exercise Them

Users and legal representatives may, at any time, view or modify their own personal information (or that of children under the age of 14) through the relevant platform operator or app store operator. Users may also request termination of the Services by selecting “Withdraw/Delete” in the application settings.

To view or correct personal information (or that of children under 14), you may directly access, correct, or delete your account by clicking “Delete Account” through the platform operator or app store operator. If you wish to 확인 personal information that the Company does not store, you must complete identity verification by comparing the Company’s collected information with subscription/registration information held by the platform operator or app store operator through their membership history and personal information provision.

If you request correction of errors in your personal information, the Company will not use or provide the relevant personal information until the correction is completed.

Personal information terminated or deleted at the request of the user or legal representative is processed in accordance with “4. Retention and Use Period” and is handled so that it cannot be accessed or used for any other purpose.

8 Automatic Collection Devices (Cookies), Operation, and Refusal

To provide personalized and customized services, the Company uses automatic collection devices such as cookies that store and retrieve user information. A cookie is a small text file sent by the server operating the application and stored on the user’s device storage. When the user uses the application, the server reads the cookie stored on the device to maintain settings and provide customized services.

You have the option to choose whether to allow cookies. Accordingly, you can allow all cookies in your device settings/options, confirm each time a cookie is stored, or refuse storage of all cookies. However, if you refuse all cookies, the provision of Services may be restricted or unavailable.

9 Technical and Administrative Safeguards

The Company establishes the following technical and administrative measures to protect users’ personal information and to prevent loss, leakage, or damage of personal information handled by the Company:

  1. 1) Password Encryption
    • User passwords are stored and managed in encrypted form. Therefore, even if a user forgets their password, the password cannot be 확인 directly. The Company adopts a method of issuing a new password after completing prescribed identity verification procedures.

This Privacy Policy may be amended due to changes in applicable laws/guidelines or the Company’s internal policies.
